SRI AYUDTHAYA – As we expected but hoped not to expect, throwing away babies in unusual places is really in trend at the moment – to recap, we’ve had shopping mall, gas station and phone booth incidents. Today’s dump site features the back of a pick-up truck.
The cruel, desperate or crazy mother – her exact psychological state is unknown – left her newborn child in the back of a pick-up parked in Big C shopping complex. The owner of the truck was stunned to find the baby and informed police. It is believed the mother is a university student.
The owner of the vehicle did not realize at first and drove from Big C for a long time until he got back to the office. After that he noticed a green and orange paper bag with a newborn baby on top, around 2-3 days old. The baby wore a light blue outfit with light blue gloves. The umbilical cord was still attached. There was a can of powder milk and a pack of diapers in the bag.
Tienchai, the owner of the vehicle felt very sorry for the kid and was relieved that the child did not die because at one stage he had driven at 120 km per hour along the highway. The baby didn’t cry one bit during trip.
The man is thinking of adopting the baby. He said mothers shouldn’t be so irresponsible these days.
